From the Liberty Arts Board

Following the roof collapse at Liberty Warehouse and the temporary "down time" in which Liberty Arts was involuntarily positioned, we are excited to announce Liberty Arts is continuing to operate the foundry out of the pavilion in Durham Central Park. However, with the loss of our studio space, in order to maintain our daily activities and uphold our mission of providing working knowledge related to sculpting and the process of metal casting, workshops and studio space to fellow artists, we have had to move our other functions to a new location. Our new location is at "Bay 5" of the Cordoba Art Center, 923 Franklin Street, Durham (next door to The Scrap Exchange and Golden Belt Studios).

The move to this location has brought on new and exciting challenges in order to continue making available to the public the unique functions of metal casting to the greater Durham community, which we are approaching as an opportunity to expand Liberty Arts into a full time collaborative sculpture arts community with the continued goals of education for community members and opportunities for local artists to create and show work.

While not yet operating at our new location due to the process of upfitting Bay 5 with the infrastructure needed to operate, Liberty Arts has incurred unplanned financial challenges. As a reminder, Liberty Arts has been a cornerstone of the downtown Durham art scene emergence since 2003, providing the resources for the sculpting and casting of "Major" the Bull located in the CCB Center City Plaza, as well as the Parrish Street project and Durham Central Park installations.

Please help us with your donation in order so we can continue to provide art for the public.

Thank you.
